After beginning my career as a Macromedia Director developer, I eventually found my calling in graphic design and front-end development, thanks to my unique set of both artistic and technical skills. I have learned the importance of establishing a start-to-finish process in order to achieve the best possible user experience while maintaining stakeholders’ goals for projects. This process includes establishing website requirements, creating prototypes, conducting user testing, and developing the final product. I keep teams oriented around this process and collaborate constantly with my colleagues to harness the creativity and wisdom of the group, thus resulting in the best possible finished product. I do not believe in short cuts, but I do believe in hard work, tenacity, and the power of collective wisdom.
I am also a huge believer in constant learning and self-teaching. I attend conferences whenever I can, read online blogs, and try to teach myself something new with each project. Whether it’s a new technical skill or simply a new approach for tackling a project, I am always learning.
When not working, I enjoy cooking, attempting to keep my vegetable garden alive, volunteering for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, and hiking.
